EC1 - the City of Culture is a unique project. The building that currently houses the culture and entertainment center was previously the first power plant in Lodz. It was opened in 1907 and operated until 2001. In 2008, the city authorities decided to renovate the facility so that it could become a cultural center. The architect kept it in its unchanged form, only modernizing the old buildings for their new intended use. Their unique, postindustrial character is a perfect fit for this part of town, creating the new Lodz city center. We supplied luminaires for the interiors in this investment, making sure that they would highlight the factory-like character of the space. We are also the authors of the illumination of the façade, which accentuates the key features of the industrial edifice.
