NEW INSTALLATION OF IP1-HMT V07 IN AMSTERDAM IN THE VERY POPULAR AREA OF OUD-ZUID

Amsterdam is one of the greatest small cities in the world. From Amsterdam canals to world-famous Amsterdam museums and historical Amsterdam sights, it is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe.

It is intensely urbanised, as is the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area surrounding the city. Comprising 219.4 square kilometres of land, the city proper has 4,457 inhabitants per km2 and 2,275 houses per km2. Parks and nature reserves make up 12% of Amsterdam's land area.

The city has a rich architectural history. The old city centre is the focal point of all the architectural styles before the end of the 19th century. Jugendstil and Georgian are mostly found outside the city's centre in the neighbourhoods built in the early 20th century, although there are also some striking examples of these styles in the city centre. Most historic buildings in the city centre and nearby are houses, such as the famous merchants' houses lining the canals.

In the city centre, driving a car is discouraged. Parking fees are expensive, and many streets are closed to cars or are one-way. The local government sponsors carsharing and carpooling initiatives.

The IdealPark project of the car lift IP1-HMT V07 is installed in the very popular area Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. Lodged between De Pijp and Amsterdam West, Oud Zuid begins just south of Stadhouderskade at Museumplein and fans out to Amsterdam’s Ring highway. In a way, it is a geographical mirror to the horseshoe formed by the canal ring.

Oud Zuid rose from mostly marshland at the end of 19th century when Amsterdam was enjoying a second Golden Age of sorts. Oud Zuid’s more affluent residents were quick to support the building of not only green spaces but also a world class concert hall, the Royal Concertgebouw. Museumplein, while now established as a cultural centre, has previously been the setting for the World Exhibition in 1883, concrete bunkers during WWII and massive anti-nuclear demonstrations in the 1980s. Meanwhile Vondelpark became world famous during the 60s and 70s as the ‘hippie park’.

Oud Zuid is central: on one end you have Amsterdam’s nightlife and culture square Leidseplein and on the other Amstelveenseweg that is developing into a true culinary boulevard. And throughout the neighbourhood, a new wine bar seems to pop up every week. But for residents, firm favourites remain Vondelpark’s Vondelpark3 and Blauwe Theehuis, as well such more traditional neighbourhood ‘brown cafés’ such as Welling where classical musicians come to unwind after their show at the Royal Concertgebouw.

In general the area is quiet and residential, but with nearby arterial streets providing easy access to daily shopping needs. Oud Zuid not only has some of the city’s more highly rated schools, but also features other children-friendly diversions such as parks and public swimming pools. Further south around the 1928 Olympic Stadium, there has been a lot of construction of housing attracting younger families of professionals. Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam forest) is nearby for a quick nature escape.

In this area is in use since May 2016 the IdealPark car Lift mod. IP1-HMT V07. This type of system with international certification, allows drivers on board during its 11.9 m maximum travel, lifting and/or lowering procedures, for car parking purposes. IP1-HMT V07 guarantees complete and total safety during operation, due to several safety features. The lift is equipped with car platform parking sensors, UPS device, allowing lowering and floor(s) door opening in the event of mains power loss.

IP1-HMT V07 platform may be called from any floor by remote control, while the driver is still on the way to the unit. In addition an emergency 24h controlled phone can optionally be installed on the IP1 HMT-V07 platform for any emergency call.

The platform lift is installed in the building of the primary school ‘De Notenkraker’ with 5 schoolrooms situated on ground floor level. 21 apartments are built on 4 levels. The parking garage is composed by 19 traditional car parking places accessible by car lift. The platform has two stops and is provided with 2 Hormann sectional doors.
