Lapitec® is expressing itself to the max

External facades, interiors, walls, doors, bathrooms, tables and ceilings: at the Lapitec headquarters, everything was designed with the products made by the company. In total, 2,500 square meters of materials: one showroom to show the enormous poten

Big slabs, often used in their entirety. Or, special cuts and elaborate processes. With one common denominator: the material, Lapitec®. This was the theme and challenge that the architects, Fabrizio Bettiol and Francesco Pascali, have implemented; respectively, the exterior and interior of Lapitec's headquarters in Vedelago (TV), a building that became a technical and aesthetic expression of what is produced inside it. The result is a building that speaks of the versatility of Lapitec®: the style and architectural choices express the highest degree of all that can be achieved with the full body sintered stone.

A demonstration of strength for Lapitec®'s many external applications.

The building is the company's business card: the fence, sliding gate, logo, garden paving and outdoor benches are all made in Lapitec®. The facade immediately reveals interesting possibilities. The front of the building is characterized by a geometric segment, open frames, which are broken in certain points - thanks to oblique lines - in order to create a dynamic and modern optical effect. The contrast between the gray Satin finish of the second floor walls, declined to the sight with the glass surfaces, and the ivory Vesuvio finish of the elements projecting out of the building further enhance the facade's shape.

In detail, the geometric lines have cuts that break up their length, without interrupting the continuity of the segment: a solution obtained by applying a lighter slab that glows at night, thus creating dynamic lights and reflections on the facade. Lapitec® was used on all the ventilated facades thanks to a special anchoring system on the back of the slab and, thus, visible on the front side.

Harmonic colors thanks to finishes designed to enhance the natural light

If the exterior is a demonstration of the technical possibilities offered by Lapitec®, the inside of the building is the best expression of the potential offered by this sintered stone in terms of finishing. Very light and essential choices for the interiors. Three finishes were chosen: Lux for all the flooring, Vesuvio for all the vertical surfaces, Satin for the tables and horizontal surfaces. Lux has an intrinsic brightness that reflects external light, thus creating a very charming mirror effect. The Vesuvio finish, with a textured surface that recalls a flamed and brushed granite, is ideal for the walls: its outer surface creates interesting vibrations when the light comes into contact with the slabs; this makes it possible to achieve an unpredictable and very natural color effect. Satin, however, was the finish chosen for the horizontal surfaces of the desks; at the reception and for all supporting surfaces: the satin effect ensures the right reflection for all workstations.

As far as the interior color is concerned, Ivory was chosen: a single and velvety color that confers compactness and uniformity to all environments. The different color perception is ensured by the finishes, which - thanks to their specific "grain" - offer an elegant contrast between the horizontal and vertical surfaces since they reflect light differently, thus enhancing the rooms and creating plays of fullness and emptiness within them.
