Stylish zinc roof in Bergeijk (The Netherlands)

Vertical standing seam system NedZink NOVA

Jack Bax, Director at zinc master Bax Koper- en Zinkspecialist in Bergeijk, is justifiably proud of his professional work. NedZink NOVA vertical seam bays sleekly line up across the imposing, stylish roof of his friend’s newly built villa in Bergeijk. Jack worked on the design together with architect Ruud Kouwenberg from Valkenswaard. “Because we were involved in the construction project from start to finish, we were able to provide stellar results. We made recommendations about the wood structures and the ventilation, among other things, and our AutoCAD draughtsman first neatly distributed the widths of the seam bays. This meant that we were able to place the dormer precisely in the middle. The zinc strips were then produced in our own factory. To provide a great contrast, the dormer has been clad in horizontal NedZink NOVA panel profiles, in which we have integrated the vertical seam bay as a concealed gutter. A large solar panel has been integrated on the right side of the roof for heating water, while four skylights have been added at the front of the house. In addition to this, we even had the required gutters made from NedZink NOVA to create a cohesive, even patina. What’s so special about this house is that the NedZink NOVA colours set the tone for the rest of the material choices, like the bricks, and the door and window frames. That’s why the home is now so perfectly balanced.”
