MICRO CLUSTER CABINS BY REIULF RAMSTAD ARKITEKTER

A Norwegian retreat that can be enjoyed with family or alone

Cabins can be an awesome thing. Especially nowadays. It has become the architectural materialization of our desire to escape the city and return to the wild – and maybe also to our childhood. If more and more cabin projects have started being built everywhere, the Micro Cluster Cabins by Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter have something in more to them: they are designed for a family retreat.

In some cases, family might actually be one of the things that you’re running from. No worries, this Norwegian cabin equally serves the purpose. It has been designed as a cluster of three divisible structures that can be used individually. Each volume has its own geometrical shape and seems detached from the others since they’re all aligned on a different axis. This shift creates an interval, some kind of courtyard that also binds the three shapes together and creates a nice balance.
