A Singaporean dream home with vertical gardens and a rooftop swimming pool

Merryn Road 40ª by Aamer Architects is the third home built for a client with the intention to provide a private space for the client as well as for his two grown sons and their families.

The client requested the addition of a koi pond and garden courtyard, so the architects chose to construct the swimming pool on the roof of the structure. A glass cut-out provides an interesting vantage point and serves as a lightwell for the space below.

Greenery being a primordial factor for the client, giant vertical gardens with creeping vines were implanted in order to further integrate plantlife in an original way. Every single room of the home opens upon an abundane of vegetation.

The residence itself is constructed from a variety of natural materials but primarily timber, marble and granite, all of which marry well with the green gardens.
