A contemporary dream home

Located in Yokohama, Japan, the House in Shinoharadai is a contemporary dream home with impressive volumes and an abundance of natural light. Japanese architects Tai & Associates worked hard to transform the building into a two family home and office while simultaneously preserving the family’s history and memories that were attached to the land. They also had to work to preserve a respectful separation between the children’s home, the parents’ home and the office while still ensuring an intimate connection. The solution? A general continuity of space that connects interior to exterior, thus drawing the home’s different functions together.
