HOUSE IN COSTA BRAVA BY GARCÉS – DE SETA – BONET

A Spanish abode with an irresistible swimming pool

Monday can be rough, and sometimes a bit of architectural eye candy provides the perfect pick me up, and a crystal clear swimming pool never hurts. The House in Costa Brava definitely qualifies as a visual feast and that swimming pool is practically calling our name!

Designed by the Barcelona-based architecture firm Garcés – De Seta – Bonet, the house is located in (duh) Costa Brava, Spain. The architects paid particular attention to the position of the house, building it the length of the sloped lot, parallel to the sea.

This geographical orientation required the building out of the basement level, with a main building separate on the upper level. The white stucco not only reflects the strong sunlight of the region, but also adds a clean feel to the architectural cluster of buildings.

The infinity pool acts as an extension of the gently protected terrace before seemingly dropping into the sea below and creating a visual relationship between interior and exterior.
