HOTEL NOT HOTEL AMSTERDAM

An artsy boutique hotel that turns rooms into stand-alone cottages

Not all hotels are created equal. But some hotels truly go above and beyond – like Amsterdam’s Hotel Not Hotel.

Hotel Not Hotel is a hotel, but it’s also not really a hotel. Confused? Rather than dividing the space into uniform hallways and standard rooms, Hotel Not Hotel called upon Collaboration-o, a group of designers from the Design Academy Eindhoven, to design miniature cottages within the hotel.

Several of the cottages stand alone, and no single room is the same. The Crow’s Nest is perched high above the hotel, while another room is tucked in an antique tram and still another is hidden behind a movable bookcase. It also doesn’t hurt that the hotel was nominated for Red&Grey’s Best Hotel Bar Award because who doesn’t like an excellent hotel bar? So, the real question becomes which room will you pick?
