Quadrille Hotel Conference & Spa

The presented building is located in the centre of Orlowo, which is one of the districts in the port city Gdynia.

The historical building had been converted several times and finally in the 18th century it was changed into baroque and rococo palace belonging to multiple owners. In the post-war period it housed a state high-school. At that time the building underwent a slow destruction and devastation until being purchased by the present owner who not only revitalized the building, but also the beautiful park surrounding the palace.

The investor decided to create a boutique hotel and the architect was entrusted with the palace’s interior design as well as the interior design of the new outbuilding erected in place of the old utility building, which didn’t survive.

Currently, the renovated palace houses a representative hall with a reception, a restaurant, eleven exclusive suites created in different styles, a modern conference centre and a pub located in the historic cellars, in the underground part of the palace, with preserved brick vaults. The underground tunnel connecting the palace with the new outbuilding, which houses a spa and wellness area and twenty-one double rooms, is also a major attraction of the whole complex.

The inspiration for the designer was the place itself, its originality, history and its importance in the prestigious district of Gdynia – Orlowo. Therefore, it was important to create a magical and unique place. The interiors were designed with special attention to detail and the architect used the principle of uniqueness and originality so that each of the spaces was a separate world, but at the same time they would create a whole which would be harmonious

and consistent with the architect’s vision. As a result, the interiors of the hotel Quadrille enable the guests to visit another reality.
