#COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS

Restaurant Hummel

Conditions: A listed building, limited budget and 8 weeks time to finish the conversion, while the business is running.

Aim: Create a restaurant where the focus is on the food. Blurred, organic forms are supposed to dominate the overall appearance. As many people as possible are supposed to fit into the room, at the same time a big amount of people must not disturb the special atmosphere.

In the foyer the original architectural condition from approx. 1850 was restored, with archways forming the entrances.

Glas surfaces form a contrast to the rather natural and rough materials used: wood flooring, crushed stones and linen fabrics .

There is no direct lighting, but light sources are embedded in joints or hidden behind mat surfaces.
