This modern hostel design in Bangkok, Thailand brings a fresh look to the street

Design firm A MILLIMETRE were tasked with designing this modern hostel in a 5-floor building that’s just 13 feet wide (4 metres) by 52 feet deep (16 metres).

The recently opened Bed One Block Hostel, located in Bangkok, Thailand, stands out on the street with its white facade of patterned perforated steel sheets that allow natural light through to the interior, and at the same time still maintains privacy.

The welcoming entrance has a wood door surrounded by windows letting you see inside, which is a strong contrast to the surrounding buildings with their metal doors and bars.

Inside, the reception desk is on the right, while bright white steps create a common area for people to meet up, work or relax.

As the hostel is deep and narrow, the dormitory rooms have been set up with bunk beds, each with individual privacy curtains.

Here’s a look at another one of the rooms, this time the bunks have stairs between them instead of a ladder, allowing easy access to the top bunks.

Each dormitory has a small lounge area for relaxing and a locker for storing luggage.

There’s also a washroom in each dormitory, with a shower, bathroom and vanity area.
