YANDEX SAINT PETERSBURG III BY ZA BOR ARCHITECTS

Cohesive office space addition for the Russian search-engine giant

Yandex is Russia’s largest search-engine company, and the number one search engine used in the country. It is therefore only fitting that they would have Google-esque offices to house their employees. For the third installment of the company’s Saint Petersburg offices, the Moscow-based architecture firm Za Bor Architects sought to create a connection between the minimalism of the original, fourth-floor offices and the overblown objects of the fifth-floor expansion.

Due to the spatial layout, the architects created a traditional corridor-office system. Along the corridor are scattered both closed and open office space mingling with recreational areas, including a yoga room, medical and massage cabinets and coffee machines. Small open spaces are reserved for employees to chat

Brights colors define the space. It is dotted with bespoke creations, including the multicolored lamps that were designed by the architects themselves. Materials were chosen for their acoustically insulating properties, such as the geometric patterns of white beams overhead.
