TREE HOUSE BY MIRÓ RIVERA ARCHITECTS

A residence that is grandiose enough for Texan soil

Located in Austin, Texas, the Tree House is a stunning single-family home designed by local architecture firm Miró Rivera Architects.

Two separate roofs cover the structure: one convex and one concave. The concave roof ensures an inconspicuous facade that blends into the surrounding neighborhood and provides a certain amount of privacy for the bedrooms.

The convex roof provides a totally different effect by completely opening the other side of the home to the exterior. Situated above the principle living space, the large picture windows offer an uninterrupted view of the garden and of downtown Austin.

Local, natural materials were privileged in the construction and stretch from the interior to the exterior. Rich wood cladding covers the outside and is echoed in the interior floors and cabinetry, while rough stone walls provide contrasting texture to the smooth wood and glass that dominate the structure.
