T&G HOUSE USES INTERPLAY OF LIGHT, SPACE AND GREENERY

Architect Nicolás Campodonico modernizes residential facade with angular concrete

T&G House by Nicolás Campodonico is located near the center of the Rosario area in Santa Fe, Argentina. Built in 2014, the 145-square-meter house faces north on a small passage within a consolidated urban area of single and double story residential buildings.

Different heights and depths are created in the facade through divided vehicular access and a reinforced concrete beam equaling the height of the adjoining house.

Light and materials interact with a sequence of open, covered and closed spaces to produce different interior atmospheres, while an abundance of plants and trees in the back lot blend with the property’s Oriental Plane trees to create a natural ambiance without.

A side staircase leads to the upper floor, where elevated views can be had on the neighborhood. Pre-cast and in-situ concrete elements respect order and modulation, while variations in light and space animate the structure and generate dynamism.

The lush, south-facing garden at the back is connected to the house by a deep gallery, while incoming light is balanced with an opening between the roof of the gallery and the living room as well as with a north-facing skylight.
