TARIFA HOUSE BY JAMES & MAU

A beautiful eco-efficient houme facing the Strait of the Gibraltar

Prefabricated constructions and sustainable/eco-efficient homes are definitely trendy these days. Maybe because it really works and has a non-negligible impact on the environment. Or it could be that talented architects, such as James & Mau, are able to work these materials in a way that both pleases our eyes and fits the geographic constraints. The Tarifa House dominates the Strait of the Gibraltar, subject to hot summers and strong winds. The view and the climate imply having both indoor and outdoor activities, and James & Mau managed to design a place that facilitates this constant transition. The house is open to its surroundings, patios and a breathtaking view. An opened house allowing inhabitants to take various paths towards the various pavillion. In the end, the fact that the Tarifa House is built out of sustainable materials and uses renewable energy is just the icing on the cake!
