Where concrete meets the jungle, you get the SA Residence by SHATOTTO Architects.
A simple, concrete square provides the framework for this gorgeous retreat located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Artfully fusing urban and rural architecture, the residence is lush yet uncomplicated, open yet withdrawn and seemingly stripped of everything but the essential air, water and light. Case in point: the phenomenal water court as swimming pool. Placed in the very center of the space, the water court creates “a natural habitat within a manmade dwelling and the layers of understanding to unfold nothingness.” Perfect? We think so.
