ROCHA APARTMENT RENOVATION BY CASA

Easy and cool vacation remodel in Barcelona

Columbo and Serboli Architecture (CaSA) has captured Barcelona’s effortlessly cool and casual vibe in a recent renovation project of a holiday home in the center of the Catalan capital.

After demolishing all the space’s original walls and completely reimagining the floor plan, this once neglected and awkward apartment emerged with four bedrooms (three of which are ensuite), an open living space, and a relaxation nook connected to a newly refurbished terrace.

Wooden slats run the length of the terrace and the indoor relax area, all of which is covered in traditional rasilla terracotta tiling, and helps to blur the line between interior and exterior spaces.

Light grey micro-cement extends throughout the remainder of the space’s floors, which is offset by bold pops of color in the ensuite bathrooms as well as an unapologetically teal hallway; the industrial-style cement floors are softened by flowing floor-to-ceiling curtains.

A clean and minimal kitchen with white tiling is separated from the living space by an island that features a breakfast bar supported by sleek white tubing. The very same tubing runs throughout the space as railing, room separation and for hanging clothes.
