Superior Golf & Spa Resort brings groundbreaking luxury to the Ukraine

The Superior Golf & Spa Resort is the first five star golf and spa resort in the Ukraine. Covering an area of 9,850 square meters, each of the hotel's 45 deluxe rooms meets the highest world standards and is complimented by an impressive range of facilities including an 18hole golf course, indoor/outdoor swimming pools, Russian and Turkish baths within a modern spa complex, universal tennis courts, a beauty salon with treatment rooms and a stateofheart fitness centre.

Located a fifteen minute drive from Kharkiv, Ukraine, the resort is designed by British architect John Seifert, who is known for his work with the Hilton Hotel chain, in collaboration with the Ukrainian architect Sergey Ykovlev. The interior design, decor and coordination of the project was meanwhile taken on by Irina Sapronova, vicepresident of the Superior Golf & Spa.

A particular goal of the project design team was to appeal to the European market with the resort, for example, serving as the home base for the Dutch football team during Euro 2012. Built in the style of a boutique hotel, each of the 45 rooms, ranging from standard to presidential categories, is entirely unique. A European approach was taken towards the interior design of the rooms with an emphasis on natural materials, pastel tones, Italian furniture, original paintings in each room and French windows opening out onto panoramic views of the surrounding woodlands and golf course. The design approach is complimented with functional details that appeal to an international audience. Villeroy & Boch fittings, for example, were chosen throughout the project in both the suites as well as in the jacuzzi, sauna and fitness areas because of the brand's popularity in Europe and their reputation for quality products.

Other outstanding design elements include a fireplace in the the lobby measuring 18m in height and ranging the entire four floors of the building. The fireplace itself was painted with drawings by Stas Gezevich, who made use of the ancient sgraffito technique, otherwise known as 'scratch painting.' This monumental decor is credited to the Incas and Mayans and can often be seen in Europe on the walls of Renaissanceera houses.

With its elegant decor, original paintings, handmade elements and top European fittings, the Superior Golf & Spa Resort offers an inspiring and precedent setting example of five star accommodation with the Ukraine's flourishing resort industry.
