CASA PARA SIEMPRE BY LONGHI ARCHITECTS

A Peruvian home intended for putting down roots

It’s official. We’re packing our bags and moving to South America. Longhi Architects has us convinced. Their Casa Para Siempre in the La Molina district of Lima, Peru, is just plain cool. Built for a young family already occupying the lot, the architects constructed a “forever house” – a genuine structure in which the family members could spend their entire lives. The house took its shape from the architect’s own interest in ancestral contemporary design. He imagined carving the base of the house from an existing black rock, creating visual interest and built-in furniture and features. Personally, we love the color, volume and visual intrigue that indeed create a place that you would never want to leave. Anyway, if you need us, we’ll be on the next flight to Peru.
