CASA 7A BY ARQUITECTURA EN ESTUDIO + NATALIA HEREDIA

A Colombian country home that has us dreaming!

Who needs walls? Certainly not us, and certainly not when you have a view like the one at Casa 7A! Located in Villeta, Colombia, and designed by Arquitectura en Estudio and Natalia Heredia, Casa 7A is certifiable eye candy. The architects were faced with a steeply sloping lot that offered beautiful views of the pristine mountains.

With its perfect orientation from north to south, the architects were at liberty to create different energies in the house. The south side faces the street and is closed off to provide respite for the sun and ensure privacy. The northern side faces the mountains, so the architects created a different dynamic by completely opening the facade and installing a series of exposed patios that frame the view and allow for day-long sunshine on the swimming pool.

The sleeping area is a more intimate space with rooms organized as blocks and opening on a third patio that is closed off, but the principle living areas remain completely open. Respecting the client’s request that have a house that could be completely closed when not in use, the architects included a series of timber panels that slide, pivot or close as needed.
