BHDM DESIGN CREATES FUN AND FUNKY OFFICES FOR AXIOM LAW

An unexpected and atypical workplace for a firm of attorneys

If your idea of a law firm equates to dark wood paneling and velvet chairs, BHDM Design’s interior for Axiom Law will flip that antiquated idea on its head. Axiom is a tradition-defying law firm whose motto is “law redefined”. Based in New York City, the firm needed offices to reflect their particular ideals. Enter BDHM. The local design studio transformed a loft space in the historic Puck Building into a bright, colorful and functional office that definitely throws convention out the door.

The loft is organized around a central open work area that contains custom desks and storage. Conference and meetings rooms were pushed to the exterior of the layout and separated with custom glass and metal curtain walls. Public spaces rather resemble private living rooms with contemporary armchairs and sofas, making them ideal of more informal interactions.

Orange pops throughout the space, and quirky details are everywhere including stools upholstered in faux grass and a bright orange hammerhead suspended from the ceiling. Skylights ensure natural light throughout the offices, and the eclectic furniture is the perfect combination of modern, vintage and reclaimed. We even spotted some chairs from the Los Angeles-based Bend Goods! Definitely a space that perfectly reflects its occupants.
