ARRIVING FIRST CLASS: LAX AIRPORT
A red carpet addition to L.A.’s most beloved airport
The sixties are back in tact and more beloved than ever. LAX Airport was practically obligated to refurbish its outer layer to match the city’s glamour, and its existing 1960’s Theme Building was inspiration enough for a radical completion of phase one. Since its unveiling on June 20, 2013, the one mile roadway area separating the parking structures from the eight terminals in the Central Terminal Area (CTA) electrifies the sky with its artful architecture, lighting and graphics. In addition to all flyers exiting the airport like a star in the spotlight, the new Tom Bradley West International Terminal designed by Fentress Architects also opened June 20th. The countdown is on for phase two, scheduled to open in 2015. What is in store for us flyers now?
