Brillhart house in miami references florida's vernacular architecture

Built in tropical miami, this single storey home has been completed using materials that reference what the design team terms ‘the seemingly forgotten american vernacular’

Conceived by brillhart architecture, the dwelling is an ambitious self-build project that serves as a simple and practical family home.

elevated five feet above the ground, the project includes 100 feet of uninterrupted glazing – 50 feet spanning the full length of both the front and back sides. furthermore, four sets of sliding glass doors allow the residence to be entirely open when desired. two porches at both the front and rear of the plan not only provide additional floor space, but also ensure privacy and protection against the region’s elements.
