yalla yalla! adds a pine exhibition wall to a showroom for textile startups

creative studio yalla yalla! has completed the design of a showroom for a textile startup center in southwestern germany.

located in mannheim, the recently opened ‘textilerei’ serves as a retail space for young creatives who occupy the baroque building’s upper levels. with the application of only a few materials and a reduced use of color, the minimal design espouses the character of a pop-up-shop. through its simplicity and restraint, the interior places an emphasis on the exhibited items.

the central design element is a horizontal band made out of light maritime pine — a feature that runs through the shop, serving as an exhibition wall. with the use of removable wooden pins and hooks, its flexible hanging system makes it possible to display items of a wide range of sizes and dimensions. the sales and exhibition area is located in the front part of the space, with a changing room and small coffee corner found at the rear.
