LIKEarchitects makes kinematix office adaptable with sliding garage doors

Creating flexible system in spaces and partitions to a kinematix office.

kinematix, an IT company whose office specializes in developing technology for healthcare and fitness products, required a working space that would be adaptable for multi-use scenarios. whether the team at the porto headquarters want to work or play, LIKEarchitects has conceived an architectural system to accommodate both.

the porto-based architecture studio has conceived a spatial organization based on a continuous, flexible system of sliding garage doors that create multiple partitions and secluded spaces. areas for individual work, team interaction, meeting rooms, testing facilities and conference centers can all be created through the simple maneuvering of mobile walls. many possible layouts can be configured when the double-sided folded metal sheet surface is rotated and meandered around the track system. a kinetic and chromatic experience generates different space perspectives and colorful reflections when the viewer moves around, based on the application of orange-and-red tape stripes.
