Swedish chapel transformed into an incredible cottage that’s selling for peanuts

After years of perfecting the transformation, the homeowners have put the property up for sale, making it a perfect time to take a virtual tour. At the time of this report, the winning bid is equivalent to just $134,000, so anyone in the market for a Swedish getaway chapel should act quickly.

The chapel is located in the scenic canal-front town of Töreboda in the southern part of Sweden. Originally built in 1966, the structure consists of just two rooms. Renovations in 2006 turned the chapel into a cozy home, with a spacious family room consuming the original worship space and sporting a 21-foot-high ceiling. Upstairs, the loft has been transformed into a bedroom. A full kitchen has also been incorporated into the first floor of the building.

It appears the chapel’s original wood flooring was retained and given a beautiful golden glow that reflects the bright white walls and ceiling. Despite having only a few windows, the space is flooded with natural light that lends to the airy feel of the open floor plan.
