Gorgeous Enseada House is a breezy vacation home in Brazil

Fluid and open spaces dominate this beach house located in Xangri-lá, a famous vacation destination in Brazil. Design studio Arquitetura Nacional created a project that could provide a more closed-in environment in the winter and expand out to encompass the surrounding greenery in the summer.

The Enseada House offers beautiful views of an adjacent lake and creates a strong connection with the surrounding landscape. It has two main volumes dominated by different materials: wood and concrete. Large structural overhangs create much needed shaded areas and establish a gradual transition between the interior and the exterior.

The architects had to work on a tight schedule and the construction and design phases were executed in less than a year. After creating the conceptual design, there was a phase of preliminary detailing, where all materials and suppliers were defined and all possible interactions analyzed in depth, to create the perfect getaway.
