#RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS
Modular Garden Shed by Avanto Architects
Finnish architecture studio Avanto is responsible for this well-designed modular garden shed, produced by farming and gardening company Kekkilä Group.
Ideal for small-scale cultivation and storage, the Green Shed combines the functions of a storage shed and a greenhouse, and is made of Finnish wood and toughened safety glass. Although the shed comes in several prefabricated designs, its individual modules can be combined in any way, allowing the client to create the ideal structure to suit their needs, no matter how unusual: for example, we particularly liked the idea seen in these pictures that we received from Kekkilä, where a transparent lakeside bedroom was created out of a greenhouse. The Green Shed is part of a wider range of products designed for Kekkilä by Avanto, including gardening shelves and a very attractive greenhouse vitrine.
About the designers
Helsinki-based architects Ville Hara and Anu Puustinen founded Avanto Architects in 2004, when they won an open architectural competition, and have been working together ever since. Named after the hole in the ice that the Finns make for swimming during wintertime, the office currently works on projects of varying scale for public communities, private companies and private customers. Avanto Architects is a member of The Association of Finnish Architects' Offices (ATL)
