The Prefab MUJI House is a Daylit Minimalist Dream Home in Tokyo

Japanese retailer MUJI just unveiled a prefabulous home for city dwellers that maximizes living space through simple, effective design.

Featuring brightly lit spaces and plenty of storage, the stunning three-storey house shuts out the hustle and bustle of Tokyo with tranquility and style.

The Japanese retailer recently built their first new dwelling in Tokyo. Designed to maximize its small city plot, it features three levels with a minimalist aesthetic that’s so common in Japanese architecture. The home’s facade, flooring, and interior details are all made of wood, while the walls and ceilings were painted white to help daylight bounce around.

A central wooden staircase connects the different floors, positioning daily life activity areas next to each other. All the floors are open plan and free from internal doors and walls, so daylight and ventilation can flow freely throughout. Designed for the city dweller, this stunning prefab home follows the brand’s simple, natural, and functional trademark to allow people to fully live the “MUJI life”.
