#LANDSCAPING AND URBAN PLANNING PROJECTS
The buoyant marine research center
sea levels rise
As sea levels rise, more and more construction projects are going to sea. These include homes in New Orleans designed to float in case of flooding, houseboats in London and a floating school in Lagos. Though the latter was destroyed by a storm, another waterborne school in Copenhagen is on the drawing boards, as is an entire eco-sensitive city intended for the waters off southern China. Such projects spur the adoption of agroplast and other innovative materials, as well as sustainable energy and food production systems. They also expand our notions of living space and put users in intimate contact with a variety of watery environments.
