one thousand museum by zaha hadid architects takes shape in miami
one thousand museum is a zaha hadid-designed residential tower currently under construction in miami. located opposite pérez art museum miami — a building completed by herzog & de meuron — the high-rise boasts a unique exoskeleton structure that comprises close to 5,000 individual pieces shipped in from dubai. construction work began in 2015, and is currently at the 18th floor. the tower will eventually rise to a total of 62-storeys.
once complete, one thousand museum will contain 83 residences alongside a wealth of luxury facilities, such as an aquatic center and a private helipad. the building has been designed by zaha hadid architects, with ODP architects working as the architect of record.
the project takes its name from its location opposite museum park, and offers views across biscayne bay towards miami beach. prices for each unit start at $6 million USD for a 4,600 square foot residence, while all homes feature multiple oversized balconies. conceived as ‘a continuous piece of contemporary sculpture’, one thousand museum is set to complete in 2018. see designboom’s previous coverage of the project here.
