palazzo del sol reveals luxury model residences on miami's fisher island

palazzo del sol is the latest luxury residential building to be built on miami’s famed fisher island.

palazzo del sol is the latest luxury residential building to be built on miami’s famed fisher island. the recently completed 43-unit boutique complex climbs to a height of 10 storeys, and seeks to bring a contemporary design aesthetic to the mediterranean-style island. the scheme is now open for occupancy, with the reveal of three high-design model residences. many residents have already moved in, or are currently working with designers to add finishing touches to their individual homes.

palazzo del sol’s developers commissioned designers from henge, artefacto, and antrobus + ramirez to design a turnkey model home. the residences differ in size and design aesthetic and cater to various types of buyers. ‘now that construction is complete, we wanted to show potential buyers the spectrum of lifestyle and design possibilities that exist at palazzo del sol,’ says heinrich von hanau, CEO of PDS development LLC and fisher island holdings. ‘while many buyers have hired their own design teams to custom build out and decorate their homes, we are responding to demand in the vacation and second-home market to deliver move-in-ready options as well.’

located at the center of the development, the building’s largest floorplan was curated by luxury design furniture brand henge. the space is characterized by natural elements including wood flooring and wall accents, stone kitchen countertops, and a marble dining room table. two private elevators open directly to the living area, which boasts an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. offering nearly 10,000 interior square feet, the unit includes five bedrooms, an office, a billiards area, a formal dining and breakfast nook, a media room, and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. the home is on the market for $19.7 million.

brazilian design brand artefacto was chosen to curate the expansive 7081 unit, a five-bedroom residence that totals 7,630 interior square feet. the walls of the $17.4 million condo are clad with shades of gray and silver. large pieces of art surround the living room, which features neutral silk rugs and ample seating for guests. additional features include an entire wall of book-matched marble in the master bathroom, as well as views of the miami beach marina, the atlantic ocean, and fisher island golf course from the outdoor terrace.

the antrobus + ramirez-designed residence takes cues from the property’s common area amenities such as the lobbies, the private theater, and the massage rooms, which were also conceived by the firm. created as a family vacation property, the three-bedroom home offers almost 3,800 square feet of interior space and 767 square feet of outdoor living. the overall color palette remains neutral with sand tones and whites used throughout.

‘our goal was to create a beach house in the sky, so we incorporated a lot of elements to bring the outside in,‘ explains alison antrobus of antrobus + ramirez. an example of this is the teak horizontal cladding in the master bedroom, a feature that would normally be found on an exterior beach cabana. we also used live-edge wood floating shelves a reflection of driftwood found on the beach.’

palazzo del sol delivers unobstructed views of the atlantic ocean, south beach, biscayne bay, and downtown miami. residents have access to a private movie theater, a hair and makeup salon, a state-of-the-art fitness center — designed by the wright fit — a children’s playroom, and a butler-staffed apertivo bar. residents also receive a custom-designed garia golf car upon closing.
