HA envelops vietnamese playground with multi-colored flags
located in saigon, vietnam, this vibrant installation by local architects from HA workshop (human architecture) revives an empty playground — about 200 sqm and completely exposed to sun and wind. the project, titled dragon snake game, was completed in 2017, within the suoi tien amusement park, ultimately providing ideal cooling and protection from the heat and wind.
HA workshop called their work the dragon snake game thanks to its fluttering flags and multi-color gradients. however, the overall floating effect is provided by six-meter-long columns that support the flags – as if soaring above the ground and people. the overall effect creates mesmerizing plays of light and shadow reflected on the floor. in the words of the team, the experience is that of the ‘moving, hovering, floating frame architecture’.
