mori no terrace designs a cooking and restroom space for osaka's 10,000 sqm campground

within osaka‘s ‘terrace of the forest’ camping facility, japanese design firm mori no terrace creates the cooking and toilet space amidst the 10,000 sqm green forest. although the structure carries a bold presence, the locally sources material allows the building to blend well into its environment. the roof is entirely black allowing the facility to subtly nestle itself into nightfall.

mori no terrace‘s kitchen and bathroom structure situates itself near the center of the camping facility in order to be seen from anywhere. the clean and simple design allows campers to enjoy the authentic camping experience, while not having to compromise on personal hygiene. ‘since the campground is a facility used by both men and women from children to adults,’ explains the designer, ‘I want it to become a place where anyone can feel the ease of use and cleanliness of the design.’
