fujiwaramuro architects' triangular house in kobe sits atop hilly japanese terrain
after successfully designing contemporary houses all over japan, fujiwaramuro architects completes its secluded house in kobe. due to its irregular topography, the house takes a triangular form in order to situates itself on the hilly terrain — the site for this project is located on the corner of several hilly building lots.
as a result of the sloping terrain, the northern side of the fujiwaramuro designed house exposes the surrounding japanese greenery. the house’s first floor features a bedroom, children’s room, lavatory and bathroom, while the living room, dining room, and kitchen are gathered on the second floor. large windows in the dining and living room display a clear view of the north side of the lot. the third floor houses a traditional japanese guest room which can be used as a bedroom or a living room. the kitchen has an open layout with L-shaped configuration, allowing this space to become the center of this residence.
