Arquitecturia built this darling Girona artist studio in a mere 3 weeks

How about a Spanish artist's studio? We're in love with this 861-square-foot garden studio in Girona.

Josep Camps & Olga Felip, the talented duo behind Arquitecturia, were eager to minimize disturbance to their client, who asked for a small studio in which to paint, so they opted for a prefabricated structure that they managed to install in a short three weeks.

Comprised chiefly of wood and glass, the garden studio preserves a giant Ash tree, which in the elevation plan appears to be twice as large as the studio itself.

“The “L” shaped house generates a square garden in which there is a huge ash,” said the designers. “We wanted to keep the magnificent tree and focus the views to the corners of the garden and so, we avoided to see the house from the inside of the studio.”

The studio’s heart is built to double height, creating a sense of expansion and freedom, which we think are critical to the creative process, and a whole lot of glazing ensures there will never be any shortage of natural light. In addition to being designed to inspire, the influx of illumination helps to cut down on electricity. And no doubt the new owners love the natural breeze that circulates throughout the open space.

Four wings surround the rest of the studio, including the entrance, a storage area, a sink and a living area. Both open and private, this darling studio, which cost about $41,000 to build, is every artist’s dream come true.
