Nozomi Nakabayashi's dreamy house in the sky is made from locally-sourced and reclaimed materials

This cozy prefab Hut on Stilts is a great micro-home for those looking to escape the bustling city life to spent time in a peaceful, natural setting.

The tiny building is elevated from the ground, sitting on wooden columns, and was conceived and built by Nozomi Nakabayashi, who recently graduated from the AA's Hooke Park architecture school in Dorset, in in South West England.

The home was built using a mix of materials such cork, locally-sourced Western Red Cedar timber for cladding and reclaimed materials for the structure and glazing. Its interior houses a small wood-burning stove, a retractable bed and opens up onto a patio that provides beautiful views of the surroundings. Nakabayashi designed the house and, together with one other person, built the structure using only battery-powered tools.

The soffit and small living area are made from plywood and polycarbonate, while the walls are insulated with cork. The small team used reclaimed telephone poles for the basis of the structure and locally-sourced western red cedar as the main building material.
