HHD_FUN designs a sprawling green-roofed complex for Chinese horticulture show
Beijing-based design firm HHD_FUN created two amazing projects for the the International Horticultural Exposition 2014.
The first one -Eartly Pond Service Center- is a green-roofed structure comprising clusters of diamond-shaped pods, while the second one-Heavenly Water Service-features a group of rounded pavilions connected to nearby roads and footpaths with long causeways.
The projects are located on the huge 23,000-square-meter site in Qingdao, China, where exhibitors showcase their nature-friendly ideas. The projects combine green roofs, pavilion-like structures and long walkways that sprawl along the coastline and create intricate patterns etched into the landscape.
The green roofs of the Earthly Pond Service Center blend the complex into the site, while preserving all the existing trees. A group of rounded pavilions protrude through the flowing form and reach the neighboring roads through elongated causeways. Both projects offer a number of amenities such as restaurants, shops and gardens nestled under the green roofs.
