Hajizadeh & Associates's complex in Iran merges with the environment resembling sand dunes
Chabahar, Iran, is the most important area in the Oman sea coast having outstanding commercial and touristic potentials. iranian studio Hajizadeh & Associates proposes a cultural complex for the free zone of the district with an approximate area of 16,500 hectares of land, which is located in the eastern side of chabahar gulf and 7 kilometers far from the city.
Located in southern iranian state sistan va baluchestan, hajizadeh’s center is inspired by the desert and resembles the sand dunes. as the complex is located in a poor iranian district, the architects wanted to maintain the building traditions of the region, yet create a shelter for the locals.
merging with the environment, the C.F.Z office and cultural complex comprises three hills, two of which have an open roof. ‘our building is a part of the history of chobohar, it is part of the mountains or a part of the sea. it is a part of the environment,’ says amir hussein hajizadeh, the founder of the studio.
