Brent Spence Bridge Replacement

BRENT SPENCE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The new Brent Spence Bridge will cross the Ohio River next to downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The new interstate will accommodate multiple lanes for both I-71 and I-75 and will be vital to long-distance state and national commerce. The bridge will be a double deck cable supported structure that will clearly announce the entrance to the city from a distance. The main clear span of the bridge is approximately 1000’ (305m) with an exceptional width of approximately 155’ (47m). The single tower of the cable stayed bridge will have a height of 500’ (152.5m) making it visible from afar and a counterpoint to the high rise buildings in downtown. The new bridge will clearly mark the river crossing from a distance making it an important landmark and a major thoroughfare for local and regional mobility.
