XINDIAN METEOROLOGICAL STATION, NEW TAIPEI CITY, TAIWAN

Atelier Boronski working with Urdaneta Zeberio and Lian Satrustegui of IMO Design were awarded 1st Prize in the national design competition for this government project.

It comprises 4,000 sq m of Instrumentation Laboratories, Forecasting Studios, an underground Wind-tunnel and a Weather-balloon launch room, as well as Meeting rooms, Staff Accommodation and Reception areas.

Three cylindrical volumes punctuate an undulating surface to form a 3 dimensional metaphor of weather formation and behavior.
