edwards moore transforms abandoned storefront into the lightloft

australian studio edwards moore transformed an empty shop into a temporary ‘lightloft’ to sell and exhibit their recently released ‘XO light’.

the lights draw influence from the nautical world of yacht racing & sail shaping, and are both displayed and fabricated in the space. as the in-house sail maker sews each light by hand, the interior acts as an extension; an inclusive narrative to discover the ‘XO’. the design brings imagery that alludes back to sail storage, where they’re furled or rolled as to avoid creasing and bending the sail battens. a huge upturned racing dinghy acts as the counter and another design element.
