RØDOVRE TOWN CENTER

The central part of Rødovre is heading for a major transformation. URBAN POWER has been involved in the master planning of the area, designed the urban spaces, and developed design guide lines for new housing areas. In the coming years, the industrial area will be transformed into an attractive area with urban activities, contemporary housing and recreational areas.

The municipal council has worked with the plans for several years. An important element in the area will be a new connecting green space, which among other things runs through the new district of "Karrébyen" and offers new squares and alleys for pedestrians and cyclist. The main alley will extend from Rødovre Centrum passing the City Hall Plaza and run through the new area. The concept of the green space is a "crack" that open up in the middle of the space. It contains local rainwater management as well as recreational funktions. “Now the conversion of the urban center starts. It is a great location and it will become one of the most attractive urban environments in the Greater Copenhagen”, Mayor Erik Nielsen says.
