This Outdoor Playhouse For Kids Was Inspired By Modern Scandinavian Cabin Design

Johnathon Little, Zoe Little, and Theo Dales of architecture and design studio KOTO, have created ILO, a modern outdoor playhouse for kids.

Inspired by the simplicity of a Scandinavian log cabin, but with a modern aesthetic, the ILO playhouse is handcrafted in the UK using locally sourced larch timbers, recycled rubber flooring, and all natural paints and finishes.

The designers wanted to create a space that could be used for reading and play, that has a feeling of being ‘open’ enough to not feel isolated, but still gives the children their own space. Horizontal and vertical windows allow for small views from within the playhouse, as well as encouraging imagination during play time.
