The Casa Alpina House by Tetro Takes on the Slopes

Building on a slope is often a deal breaker for architects, but Tetro has come up with a unique approach for their Casa Alpina. Built to follow the contours of its mountain landscape, Casa Alpina is located in Brazil, and makes full use of the tropical climate.

Built on a concrete slab that mimics the slope, the house is supported by two pillars that hold up a steep roof. Glazed walls make it appear as if the roof is floating over the home. Those floor-to-ceiling windows also make the house feel a part of the surrounding countryside, providing spectacular views. On the roof, the terrace leads to a swimming pool.

The roof and terrace are clad in beautiful wood decking and three slender trees provide the finishing touch.

The house ties into the natural surroundings perfectly, creating a space where the occupants can hide away in luxury and harmony.
