This House Has A Cantilevered Dining Room With Walls Of Glass

Architecture firm KAA Design Group, has completed a modern house in Los Angeles, California, that’s designed to take advantage of the views.

The house is tucked into the hillside, highlighting the natural contours of the land, while a motor court has been given a decorative pattern, and well-lit stairs lead to the front door.

In the living room, maple cabinetry clads the entertainment wall, while the ceiling showcases exterior maple siding.

The clean lines of the furnishings and elegant materials throughout the interior enhance the contemporary spirit of the home.

One of the striking features of the home is the cantilevered dining room, that pays homage to Pierre Koenig’s famous Stahl House.

Outside, the house has a system of operable wood shutters to facilitate sun and privacy control, while the main-level garden terrace features a spa, fire pit areas, and swimming pool.

Back inside, and there’s a plaster wrapped spiral staircase that’s a sculptural counterpoint to the bold and linear geometry of the home.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are located upstairs. In this bathroom, a built-in bathtub sits below the window, while on the opposite wall, a wood vanity runs the length of the room and is topped with a light counter.

The home also has a second set of stairs that lead down to the basement.

In the basement is a custom-designed wine room that’s furnished with a large wood and steel table and benches, while glass walls provide storage for the wine collection.

The basement also has a two-person bowling alley.
