Architecture firm Matteo Foresti has designed a modern sauna that sits above Stockholm’s archipelago of islands.

Designed as a black box that’s embedded into the rocks, the small sauna is a warm and cozy space illuminated from the inside.

At the front of the sauna, a deck provides a place to relax outside and take in the water views.

The interior, which features the sauna, a small kitchen, and a bathroom, is just as black as the exterior. Both dark wood and Negresco quartzite stone walls and floors have been used throughout.

The bathroom has matching black fixtures, that seamlessly blend into their surroundings.

In the shower, a rainfall shower head makes a statement in the small space.

A square skylight filters natural light through to a mostly dark space.
