Godiva House

The continous and user-friendly house consists of two rectangular structures interconnected by a central quadrangle pivot

The sustainable and user-friendly Godiva House consists of two rectangular structures interconnected by a central quadrangle pivot. The design takes into consideration the difficulties of a resident with limited mobility while also striving for maximum sustainability.

There is a constant dialogue between the interior and exterior spaces of the property, and each retains its own, singular identity as the rooms merge with the functional, open-air garden. Natural light floods into different parts of the house during daylight hours, enriching the architecture via a constantly changing dance of light and shadow.

The house has also received an “A+” grade for Energy Performance and Indoor Air Quality. Due to the high-energy requirements of the house, the architect employed the latest construction technologies and alternative energy.
