Awesome two-story treehouse is half jungle gym and all childhood dream come true

Gone are the days when playing in a treehouse meant climbing up precarious structures in the old backyard oak.

These days, little ones can enjoy luxury, custom-built treehouses like this one from Sharon Davis. A combined treehouse and jungle gym, this innovative play space is every child's dream come true.

Located in Garrison, New York on sprawling acres of farmland, Davis’ playhouse is as large as a studio apartment and has all sorts of secret features and thrills for its visitors. 350 sq ft are split between two levels: the main floor and the crow’s nest. Only children and agile adults can enter, as a custom climbing rope net is the threshold to the main floor, but the fun doesn’t stop there.

A sleek, custom ladder brings playmates onto the crow’s nest – unless one would prefer to lounge on the walkable lounging net – where they will find a mahogany writing and coloring desk overlooking a serene meadow and apple orchard. To get back down to Earth, one can choose to take the slide to the main floor or a fire pole back to solid ground. Having a view of the nearby Hudson River Valley sounds like the cherry on top of this dreamy design, yet perhaps it could provide inspiration for craftsmen or women to create their own modern treehouse paradise.
